You Don't Need Another Plan. You Need A Start.

Almost everyone who comes to me has already tried a plan. They followed it for two weeks, life got loud, and the whole thing fell apart. Then they decided the problem was their willpower. It was never their willpower. It was a plan that was never built for the life they actually have.

Here is what I do differently. Before I write a single workout, I ask about your week. When you wake up, who you feed before you feed yourself, when you actually get ten quiet minutes, whether you have a gym you like or a living room and a pair of dumbbells. That information changes everything about what I build.

What I learned from being a coach is everyone learns differently. You have to know your clients and how they react and process things. Some people want the reason behind every set. Some people want me to tell them what to do and check in on Thursday. Neither one is lazy. They are two different ways of being human, and a plan that ignores that is going to be abandoned.

I'm not pushy until I need to be. There is a difference between pushing someone because it makes the coach feel in control and pushing someone because you told me last week that this one mattered. I'm always going to do what's best for my clients and not myself.

So we start small and we start honest. Two or three sessions a week that you can defend on a bad day. A protein number you can hit without cooking a second dinner. A walk you can take while the dog is doing what dogs do. None of it is impressive. That is exactly the point, because impressive plans have a short shelf life.

I also refuse a few things. I will not take your favorite food away for eight weeks and hand it back in March. I will not put you in a program you have to perform in front of a camera. I will not pretend a twelve week transformation is something a normal person with a job and kids should expect. That is not motivation, it is a set-up.

Then I change things. Every other week the workouts move. Not to keep it fun, but because your body adapts and because your life two months from now is not the life you are living today. Consistency is not doing the same thing forever. It is having someone keep the plan in step with you.

The other thing I refuse is guessing. If something is not working I ask you about it instead of assuming. Sleep, stress, a new puppy, a boss who will not let you leave on time, a week where you traveled. All of it belongs in the plan, because all of it is your body.

If you are the person who wants to lose weight but does not know how or where to start, I want to say one thing plainly: not knowing is not a character flaw. It is the starting line, and it is exactly where I am built to meet you.

Take a look at how I work with people online and in person, and if something in there sounds like your week, send me a message. Then read what I mean by the boring middle, because that is where the actual results live.
