The Injury That Ended My College Career And Made Me A Coach

I was a four sport athlete in high school and I played competitive softball and volleyball in college. That was the whole identity. Not a person who liked sports, a person who was one.

An injury in college took the playing career. There is a specific kind of silence that comes with that. The schedule that used to hold your whole life together disappears, and nobody hands you a replacement for it.

For a while I did not go near a gym. When I finally went back I did it the wrong way, the punishing way, and my body told me about it. It took me learning how to actually take care of my body to fall in love with it again. That is the turn nobody warns you about. The gym stopped being the thing that hurt me and became the thing I run toward.

I started coaching middle school basketball and track at twenty years old. That is when I knew I wanted to do this for a living. I loved teaching the movement, and I loved watching a kid decide they were capable of more than they thought they were.

Everything I do now comes out of that stretch. I learned that a plan is only as good as the person it was written for. That progress is slower and stranger than anyone posts. And that the person who quits is almost never the person who lacked effort. They are the person who was handed something generic and told to want it harder.

So I study you instead. I learn how you learn, what you need to perform at your best, and how you react when something is hard. Then I build the workouts around that, and I change them every other week so the results keep coming. I'm always going to do what's best for my clients and not myself.

I coach in person in Glenpool and online from anywhere. If you are at the beginning and you do not love the gym, that is not a problem you have to solve before we start. It is just the shape of your life, and I will build around it.

Here is how we can work together, and here is how to reach me if you would rather talk it through first. If you are trying to work out what to actually eat in the middle of all this, the boring middle is where I put the honest version.
